As Executive Director of the West Midlands Pension Fund Rachel leads and oversees a 200-strong team responsible for the investment of the Fund’s £20bn assets and delivery of pension information and benefits to over 340,000 public sector workers across the West Midlands region.
Originally training as an actuary, with over two decades of pension and investment experience, Rachel joined the Fund in 2015 and now works with a wide range of stakeholders and industry professionals, on pension policy and change initiatives, relevant both to her LGPS and Trustee Director roles.
Rachel is passionate about building sustainable futures for pension savers, developing best practice and operational resilience within an evolving Scheme and regulatory framework.
She works with colleagues across the LGPS and wider industry through appointments to the PLSA Policy Board and Local Authority Committee, the LGPS Scheme Advisory Board Compliance and Reporting Committee and Local Authority Pension Fund Forum.
Rachel graduated from the University of Nottingham with a joint honours (BSc) degree in Mathematics and Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA, CERA).
