As Savills Investment Management’s (“Savills IM”) Head of Natural Capital, Andrew is responsible for the firm’s natural capital investment division leading on the development and execution of the investment strategy and product design. Andrew joined Savills IM from Schroders, where he spent 23 years.

At Schroders, Andrew’s role was most recently Head of Alternatives with a focus on natural capital and carbon. The role covered primary fund investments in forestry, farmland and conservation-based strategies as well as direct investments in nature-based solutions (“NbS”) and carbon markets. Across the direct investment strategies, Andrew’s responsibilities included sourcing and executing NbS investments, as well as modelling bespoke carbon portfolios for corporates, family offices, foundations, and multi-lateral development banks.

In addition to his responsibility for Schroders’ natural capital investment strategy, Andrew was also responsible for strategic partnerships. Andrew led an investment in natcap research - a science and geospatial intelligence company focused on enabling nature conservation and restoration founded by leading academics from Oxford University. Andrew also led a joint venture with Conservation International to create Akaria Natural Capital, a specialist advisor in NbS and carbon markets, where he was also a Board and Investment Committee member.

Prior to Schroders, Andrew spent two years working in the investment arm of New Zealand’s leading rural insurance company, FMG, investing in commercial forestry and farmland. Andrew has a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Degree in Business, Massey University New Zealand.
