Barry is a Partner in our Public Sector team, with over 20 years’ experience providing pensions and risk management advice. For the last 15 years, Barry has specialised in local authority pension schemes and his knowledge and expertise is widely recognised across the public sector. Barry speaks regularly at the key actuarial and investment Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) related events and also provides commentary to the pensions trade press.

Barry is a representative on several external sub-committees, such as the Scheme Advisory Board and CIPFA, liaising with other external stakeholders such as the LGA and MHCLG, as well as with other actuarial firms who provide advice to the LGPS.

He is a Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries and has a PhD in Maths from the University of Glasgow. Barry lives with his family near Glasgow, is a keen (but often injured) runner and coaches at a local athletics club.
