Dafydd is Shareholder Non-Executive Director for WPP IM Co and Independent Board Chair for Merseyside PF in the Northern pool. He is a company NED (vice chair at 'Adra'), and part-time CFO at North Wales Fire Authority, where he also chairs the local Pension Board.

Until retiring in 2023, he had been Statutory Finance Officer at both Gwynedd Council and Snowdonia National Park for 20 years. In addition to the usual Finance Director duties, he was Fund Director for north-west Wales's LGPS Fund, and chaired the officer group which originally forged the Wales Pension Partnership LGPS pool.
